As we continue celebrating the month of love, I’m excited to share another heartwarming story that reminds me why I fell in love with photography in the first place. Today’s feature captures a golden hour engagement shoot that celebrates when friendship turns to forever.

Some love stories are written in the stars, but Brittany and Stephen’s began with a splash—literally! From high school lifeguards to soulmates, their story proves that sometimes, love finds you in the most unexpected places.

These two first met as high school lifeguards and stayed connected over the years. Their friendship turned romantic during their university years at Wilfrid Laurier in Waterloo. Fast forward 5.5 years, and in August last year, Stephen popped the question at their special place—Long Point Beach, the backdrop to some of their most treasured moments together.

When it came time for their engagement photos, the location was an easy choice – the very spot where they got engaged—Long Point Beach. It was the perfect backdrop to capture their love under the golden hour sun and this engagement session was pure magic. 

Adventure Meets Romance

From the moment we began, it was clear these two were naturals in front of the camera. Brittany and Stephen completely embraced the moment, laughing, running along the shore, and letting their playful, romantic energy shine. Whether they were dancing in the sand, stealing sweet glances, or just being their goofy, fun-loving selves, their chemistry was undeniable. Some couples are a little camera-shy at first, but not these two! 

As a photographer, it’s always a joy when couples are completely at ease in front of the camera. Brittany and Stephen made my job feel effortless as they embraced the moment with laughter, spontaneous dances, and those sweet, quiet glances that speak volumes.

This adventurous duo (who love everything from skiing to running together to planning their dream honeymoon in the South of France) treated their session like the perfect beach date.
