Yay! It’s finally here! I’m beyond excited to share my new blog with you! Adding a blog to portraitsbykendra.ca has been on my bucket list for a while, and what better time to introduce it than with my refreshed website?

And in case you’re new here, I’m Kendra Foerster, the photographer behind the lens at Portraits by Kendra. I’ve been photographing in the Kitchener-Waterloo region for over 11 years, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share my passion with you.

I’ve got lots of fun things to share with you, and not all of them are photography-focused either. But I’ll be kicking it off by answering some of the most frequent questions I get asked during photo sessions, like “What do I do with my hands?” I’ll be sharing lots of great tips and tricks to ensure you feel comfortable, confident, and special throughout your photo session with me.

About Me and My Journey:

As you may know, I left the corporate world in 2021 and launched Portraits by Kendra full-time, and I’ve never looked back. I’m so fortunate to be following my passion and focusing on areas of photography that bring me joy. 

What I love to shoot:

Headshot and Lifestyle Photography are a big part of my business, but did you know that I also do Custom Sessions and specialize in Brand Photography? With my background in marketing, advertising, and communications, Brand Photography was a natural fit for me. Fun Facts about Me:

• I need at least 2-3 cups of coffee in the morning before communicating.
• My favorite day of the week is Friday. I call it Caesar Fridays!
• I love snuggling on the couch in the morning with Oliver, my Havanese pup, while enjoying a warm cup of coffee before my kids wake up.
• I’m an extroverted introvert. I love being with people, but I also love my downtime and a quiet house.
• I’m a shortie at only 5’2″. My bestie calls me petite, but that’s just a polite word for “I’m short”! So don’t be surprised if I’m climbing ladders or standing on stools to take your photo. Nothing stops me from getting that perfect shot.
• I’m terrified of heights, yet I’m a roller coaster enthusiast. Don’t ask why! 
• I’m a Swiftie, but I also love country, pop, and rock. Thanks to my Gemini mood, my playlist is as unpredictable as that rollercoaster ride!
• I’m a Waterloo Region Record Reader’s Choice Photography winner.
• My family and friends are everything, and my favorite time is being in their presence.
• Spreading kindness like confetti” is my life motto.
